This really is one great bit of kit. I have a desktop, laptop and NTL broadband. The router allows 4 wired network connections so I didn’t have to buy a wireless card for my desktop. Setup was Plug and Play and instantly gave me a home network and configurable firewall.I bought a Netgear Wireless 54G PCMCIA Adapter for my laptop and that was also very straight forward. I get 100% signal strength all over the house. If you’re tempted then go for it.

I purchased this Netgear Router as I sometimes work from home, supporting a network out of hours and wanted to use my existing Telewest broadband connection to VPN in to the companies network. The router automatically detected the connection from the cable modem and my home PC was up and running in seconds, it then took me a matter of minutes to setup the wireless connection from my work laptop – I plumpted for the 128 bit WEP encryption and I also used the Access Control List for greater security. The web interface is very friendly and easy to use.Its been extremely realiable so far and is a very tidy, neat device that discreetly flashes away to let you know that its connected and all is well. There are quite a few more features in the router, NAT, static routes, etc which I will probably never use but are there if you have a small business setup. In all, I’m very pleased and recommend it.

This is an excellent product,it arrived within the promised delivery schedule, and in pefect condition. I was concerned about the installation, security etc,but without cause,it was a doddle to install.
I put the CD in my desk top (1 of 2 in the same room), followed the instructions, checked out my laptop down stairs, logged onto the wireless network, put in the passphrase, worked first time ,its very easy to install honest.Would highly recomend this router for anyone who has cable broadband,Telewest/virgin,its works great.

Working from home is nice, but I used to be restricted to the living room because of the cable… which was ‘interesting’ when the kids were on school holidays!!!Now however, I am free! And becoming a serious Wireless Geek.First off I use the WGR614, plugged into my NTL Set top box. Set Up here was so simple I couldn’t believe it… in fact I was connected wirelessly with out doing anything! However I have now gone back and added security, which was, in itself a piece of cake.RANGE IS GREAT! Getting full coverage throughout the house and out into the garden.I have now also purchased a WGE101 Wireless Ethernet Bridge, which is connected to the PS2. This means the PS2 can now be permanently relocated to the kids room (oh yes!!!), but still let them have Onlime Gaming capabilities. Finally my HP iPaq h2210 is connected to the router through the use of a NETGEAR MA701 Wireless CF Card. Now the laptop is put away when I’m not working, the kids are safely ensconced up stairs but I can still quickly check the internet or email on the handheld. THANK YOU NETGEAR!!!

Very easy to set up to Virgin cable modem using Wizard. Took me about 5 mins with no hassle. Three tips
1. Get details of router version which can be found on underside of routee ( default username and password can also be found there.
2 Print out cabling setup instructiond from CD as you have to switch off compputer and modem before connecting everything up.
3. Go onto netgear website to check for latest firmware and check security setup.
